The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Police Officer 2 to join our team to provide law enforcement and safety within the University's jurisdiction.

Minimum Qualifications
One year of law enforcement experience.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification may be required.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Criminal patrol, enforce laws and regulations of the State, City, and University and make arrests as necessary.
+ Traffic enforcement that may include the use of radar/LIDAR.
+ Enforce DWI, narcotic, criminal, and University laws and regulations.
+ Investigate all incidents committed within University jurisdiction (such as but not limited to: assaults, thefts, sex crimes, computer crimes, traffic accidents, etc.)
+ Respond to emergency calls for service within University jurisdiction.
+ Serve on multi-agency task force for DWI and crime prevention.
+ Gather and submit evidence as part of investigations into violations of local, state and University regulations.
+ Generate reports regarding calls for service.
+ Appear in court when subpoenaed.
+ Provide protection for dignitaries and VIP's within the University jurisdiction.
+ Recertify annually to maintain certifications regarding Louisiana POST requirements.
