Join the UPMC Somerset team as a Part-Time CT Technologist and contribute to high‑quality diagnostic imaging in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment. In this role, you will perform CT imaging procedures at a technical level that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation safely and effectively for diagnostic purposes. This 20‑hour‑per‑week role offers variable shifts, including 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, and rotating weekends with 7:00 AM-7:00 PM and 7:00 PM-7:00 AM coverage. No holiday shifts required.

Responsibilities:
+ Performs CT procedures using established scan protocols, including contrast administration, without requiring constant supervision.
+ Uses independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic CT imaging.
+ Operates complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation, completing studies according to protocol.
+ Demonstrates proper venipuncture technique and safe, correct use of power injectors per departmental and manufacturer guidelines.
+ Administers oral, rectal, and IV contrast in accordance with physician orders and policy while assessing patients for risk factors before contrast administration.
+ Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, displaying caring, listening, dignity, and respect, and works collaboratively to support efficient patient care.
+ Communicates exam instructions clearly, explaining procedures to reassure patients and promote cooperation.
+ Identifies patients using two identifiers, follows universal protocol, reviews history and orders, applies appropriate departmental protocols, and documents required information in the electronic record.
+ Ensures accurate coding and tracking of exams through the RIS, networks studies to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and enters all associated charges correctly.
+ Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
+ ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT registry within 6 months of hire date.
+ CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire date.
+ CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
