Description
This Work from Home position requires that you live and will perform the duties of the position; within 60 miles of an HCA Healthcare Hospital (Our hospitals are located in the following states: FL, GA, ID, KS, KY, MO, NV, NH, NC, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA).

Job Summary and Qualifications
Patient Hearing Disability Advisor is responsible for conducting eligibility screenings, assessment of patient financial requirements, filing applications, filing appeals and reviewing medical records. The Patient Hearing Disability Advisor is a liaison between the patient, hospital, and governmental agencies and is involved in all case management areas. In this role, the specialized individual will manage a specialized queue of cases that require hearings before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). These cases have already been denied at the reconsideration stage, making the hearing the next step in the process.
What you will do in this role:
+ Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications.
+ Obtain legally relevant medical evidence, physician statements and all other documentation required for eligibility determination.
+ Complete and file applications. Initiate and maintain proper follow-up with the patient and government agency caseworkers to ensure timely processing and completion of all mandated applications and accompanying documentation.
+ Assist the patient with gathering any additional verifications or medical records and meeting appointment dates and times. Maintain structured and timely contact with the patient and agency as outlined in the company standards.
+ Provide advocacy work for patients seeking disability benefits through the Social Security Administration (SSI/SSDI) programs and assists with opening claims and assisting with pending claims for the Social Security Administration.
+ Ensure all insurance, demographic and eligibility information is obtained and entered into the system accurately. Document progress notes to the patient’s file and the hospital computer system.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum one-year related experience required, preferably in healthcare.
+ Must have a Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience relating to working disability claims as an authorized representative, (verified by the Social Security Administration).
+ Work from home employees are required to have high speed internet 25 MB download and 6 MB upload.
+ Must be willing to pass a three-hour proctored exam to receive (EDPNA) certification
