    Job Summary and Qualifications

    1. Position Summary:

     

    TheORClinicalDataAnalystis a recognized subject-matter expert who actively participates in the development and implementation of CDM(clinical data management)requirements as they relate to theoperating room and support departmentsinformation integrity,financial processes,and variationsin the EHR Program. TheOR ClinicalDataAnalyst will support CDMdata usage analysis, ad hoc reporting, report configuration, and report distribution throughout the organization. This role will be responsible for creating ad hoc and standard reports for the facilities and division on the operational and clinical aspects related to CDM for Surgical Services. Additionally, theOR ClinicalData Analyst will present and review data in the form of reports, dashboards and scorecards; and assist in defining and monitoring operation requirements defined in the CDM project.

     

    Responsibilities also include training ofOR Analysts forchart validator, OR Module functionality,profile verification and billing reconciliation. The Clinical Analyst OR works under the supervision ofthe OR BusinessManager to perform their duties.

    Bachelor Degreerequired

    Experienceof24monthsMeditech reportingpreferred

    Experience:

    + One to twoyears’ experiencein clinical application support

    + Licensing or credentials within specific clinical specialty preferred, if available

    + Experience with OR scheduling/documentation systems

    + Expert knowledge of Microsoft Officesuite

    + Knowledgeable about working with clinical data within a healthcare system

    + Ability to communicate andfacilitatetopics clearly and effectively across department lines; working inside peer groups and receiving guidance from supervisor

    + Detailed working knowledge of the health care industry including EHR strategies and applications, clinical workflow issues, regulatorycomplianceand federal mandatespreferred

    + Works independently,receives minimal guidanceand acts as amentorand provides direction tocolleagues with less experience

    1. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

     

    Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people and tomaintainconstructive relationships in dealing with them. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to assume leadershiprolewith the health team in planning and delivery of patient care.

     

    1. Ensure a standardized and consistent approach relating to CDM participation and implementation of Data Governance, Business Intelligence(BI)and Analytics

    1. Acts as thesubject matterexperttoassistin thedevelopment of theappropriate strategies, plans,toolsand approaches to ensure successful implementation of BI reports,dashboardsand scorecards

    1. Think analytically and critically to lead reporting standardization and automating efforts

    1. Present data formally and informally andfacilitatediscussionregardingdata outputs

    1. Lead multi-disciplinary teams to use data in improving usage and operational workflow

    1. Provide complexdataanalysis, data mining, data science withad hocandoperational reports as requested by Group, Division, andCorporateleaders

    1. Demonstrated knowledgetounderstandCDM datain order todevelop and design reports

    1. Identifyreporting needs to support usage goals throughout the Facilityand Division

    1. Obtain field feedback on usage activities to continuously improveCDM output

    1. Use and support database applications and analytical tools, evaluate data quality, applications, and workflow functions

    1. Format, run, distribute, and interpret reports using the available tools

    1. Provide in depth “what if” analysis of data using available tools

    1. Escalate to and collaborate with CDM Director on program issues and risks toidentifysolutions

    1. Other dutiesassigned as necessary, to supportCDM InformationIntegrity and clinical related processes

    1. Demonstrated competence with patient care information systems including Meditech, and Microsoft Office programs

    1. Understands pertinent Joint Commission, AORN, MQSA, HIPAA, Core Measures and ACR guidelines
