DTVA creates both long-form and short-form content spanning traditional 2D, rig-based 2D, CG (preschool), CG (premium), and stop-motion. What you will do
The Storyboard artist draws a scene-by-scene visual story based on script. Responsibilities include:
+ Creating storyboards: thumbnail/rough storyboardpanels through delivery of finishedstoryboard sequences
+ Ensuring that the vision and style of the show is consistently adhered to through execution of action, staging,dialogueand camera
+ Pitching storyboards to Director,crewand Executives
+ Addressing notes from Director and Creative Supervisors
+ Collaborating with creative department heads and production to review goals and vision for the storyboards and discuss concerns,timelinesand complexity,giventheparameters of the schedule; Responsible for completing all deliverables on time and according to production schedule and within guidelines/show parameters such as number of scenes, complexity requirements, etc.
+ Ensuring that storyboard includes all final dialogue, backgrounds, direction, camera moves and action by making drawing or text changes in description,dialogueor numbering
+ Submitting work that appropriately aligns with productionand workflow guidelines requirements (i.e., naming conventions and storage)
Required Qualifications and Skills
+ Minimum of 2- 3 years storyboard experienceand/or training on asimilar show
+ Knowledge and experience with television animation production pipeline a plus
+ Knowledge of software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boon Storyboard Pro,andPhotoshop
+ Ability to align with style and sensibilityof show
+ Strong in comedy, action,emotional storytelling, and character interaction
+ Strong staging,compositionand cinematographyskills
+ Ability to draw charactersand environmentson modelwithin show style
+ Abilityto write clear and specific direction on storyboards
+ Solid and consistent time-management skills
Education
+ Bachelordegree or equivalent work experience
Job Location
+ This is a fully on-site role based in Glendale, CA
The pay rate for this role in California is $68.02 to $ 74.32 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
