    Job Description:

    Schedule: Hours: M-F, 8A-6P with possibility for some weekends

     

    + Other duties as assigned.

    + Acts as a resource to pharmacy, risk management, quality, and performance improvement departments.

    + Leads the review and evaluation of medication safety practices and recommends process improvements.

    + Manages and implements medication safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

    + Oversees adverse drug event reporting activities and evaluates significant medication variances.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Competent in medical terminology, medication names and medication use [Required]

    • Proficient with prescription-filling software and other computer skills [Required]

    • Ability to work under pressure [Required]

    • Ability to interact professionally with public and other medical staff [Required]

    • Knowledge of compounding oral/topical medications [Required]

    Education:

    • Associate's in physical science, business or healthcare related field [Preferred]

    • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

    Field of Study:

    • N/A

    Work Experience:

    • 3+ years pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill or hospital setting [Required]

    • 5+ years retail pharmacy experience [Preferred]

    • Previous experience in a managed healthcare organization, medical insurance company, pharmacy benefit management or other healthcare related entity. [Preferred]

    • Prior experience processing and filling prescriptions [Preferred]
