The Curry Engineering Group, PLLC, started in 2010 as a small civil engineering firm in Fuquay-Varina, NC. While Curry Engineering enjoys a healthy local presence in southern Wake County, our services extend throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, in addition to projects with select clients throughout the US. Our site design work includes projects such as retail strips, nursing homes, medical office buildings, hospitals and healthplexes, pharmaceutical facilities, industrial facilities and single and multi-family residential developments. The role of Civil Engineer II consists of the following roles and responsibilities: 1. Work with more experienced engineers/project managers on specific design tasks and plan production 2. Manage more complex design tasks on larger projects such as stormwater management, flood studies, and horizontal and vertical roadway geometry 3. Provide project management and overall design duties on small to medium-sized projects 4. Work with clients to provide preliminary site sketches that optimize the site and meet the client’s needs 5. Work with Civil Engineer I and Designers to implement specific design tasks 6. Review work done by others on managed projects 7. Attend public hearings as necessary (e.g Planning Board and Town Board meetings) 8. Attend construction progress meetings and perform construction site visits 9. Provide water and sanitary sewer layout and design, site grading, and general site layout Goals 1. To meet the client’s expectations with quality work, on time, and within budget 2. To strive to achieve a standard of excellence with design, readability, and constructability of plans 3. To work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve shared project goals

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1. BS in Civil Engineering with Professional Engineer (PE) registration in NC 2. Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D design software 3. Hydrology and hydraulics experience with stormwater management design proficiency 4. Familiarity with AutoCAD Storm Sewers, Hydrographs, or similar software programs 5. Ability to provide vertical and horizontal roadway geometry design with Civil 3D 6. Experience managing small to medium-sized projects from start to finish 7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 8. Ability to perform construction site visits

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
