Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Civil Engineer, where you will support land development, residential, and site civil design projects from concept through construction. You will prepare design plans including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater systems, and erosion & sediment control. Your role will involve performing stormwater management analysis and design, including hydrologic/hydraulic modeling in compliance with NYSDEC and NYCDEP standards. You will develop erosion and sedimentation control plans, prepare permit packages, and coordinate with regulatory agencies. Additionally, you will produce detailed engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and conduct site visits, field assessments, and collaborate with contractors, architects, and project stakeholders. You will also assist in preparing engineering reports, technical analyses, specifications, and cost estimates, ensuring design compliance with NY State and NYC regulations, codes, and permitting.

Responsibilities

+ Support land development, residential, and site civil design projects from concept through construction.

+ Prepare design plans including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater systems, and erosion & sediment control.

+ Perform stormwater management analysis and design, including hydrologic/hydraulic modeling in compliance with NYSDEC and NYCDEP standards.

Essential Skills

+ 4+ years of experience working in land development and site civil design projects.

+ Experience in land development design projects, stormwater management, grading, and drainage design.

+ Experience in erosion and sedimentation control design and permitting.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

+ Experience with NY State and NYC projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in both NY State and NYC regulatory environments.

Work Environment

Work hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch break. Our team is a woman-owned business, running lean and taking on complex projects at a fast pace. The office is comprised of about 30 people, nearly all engineers. We are a multi-disciplinary civil engineering design and consulting firm with over 45 years of combined experience in engineering, land development, and regulatory approvals, committed to providing the highest standards of professional service.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holtsville, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $68.00/hr.
