    Job Title: CDL Driver** **Job Description

     

    As a Class A CDL Driver, you will operate vehicles with a semi-trailer or pull trailer with two or more axles, equipped with a mounted forklift. You will demonstrate decision driving skills by safely delivering various bulky and heavy lumber products in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring timely and damage-free delivery.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate vehicles with a semi-trailer or pull trailer with two or more axles.

    + Safely deliver various bulky and heavy lumber products in a timely manner, adhering to DOT regulations.

    + Check and adhere to assigned deliveries/credits and ensure load-related documentation is complete and accurate.

    + Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods.

    + Maintain driver forms and log (ELD) as per DOT regulations.

    + Maintain high activity/productivity levels with urgency, efficiency, and determination.

    + Address and resolve customer issues and inform dispatch of any outstanding issues related to customer deliveries.

    + Check vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

    + Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle.

    + Haul wall panels, roof trusses, and door panels to job sites/construction sites.

    + Sometimes use a forklift to unload, or allow people at the job site to unload.

    Essential Skills

    + Current DOT certification and valid, unrestricted Class A (CDL) license.

    + Minimum of 1-year driving and delivery experience.

    + Forklift experience.

    + Ability to work morning/evening hours during the week, required weekends and overtime.

    + Maintenance of regular attendance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2+ years of driving experience.

    + 1+ year experience with lumber or other construction materials and tools.

    + 6+ months of experience working face-to-face with customers.

    + Ability to read delivery tickets.

    Work Environment

    Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse, which can be dusty. Haul wall panels, roof trusses, and door panels to job sites within a 150-mile radius. Operate a 2015 Peterbilt manual or a 2022 Peterbilt automatic truck. Dress comfortably in jeans, steel-toed shoes, and layers as needed. Enjoy a work schedule of Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm, with the benefit of being home every night.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $62400.00/yr.
