Job Title: Production Operator
Job Description
The Production Operator is responsible for loading and moving coils with a heavy industrial sit-down forklift 25% of the time and handling materials by hand 75% of the time. This role involves feeding machines with metal from coils, conducting quality checks, and utilizing measuring tools to ensure the gauge and width of coils meet specifications. The operator will also inspect coil quality to match customer orders and document findings in Excel.
Responsibilities
+ Load and move coils using a heavy industrial sit-down forklift.
+ Handle materials manually as required.
+ Feed metal from coils into machines.
+ Perform quality checks on coils.
+ Use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to ensure specifications are met.
+ Inspect coils to confirm they match customer orders.
+ Document quality checks and other relevant data in Excel.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of two years of experience operating a heavy industrial sit-down forklift.
+ Minimum of two years of machine or production operator experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
+ Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in the metric measurement system.
+ High attention to detail and safety orientation.
+ Ability to accurately use a tape measure.
+ Proficiency in using MS Excel for data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ Ability to work up to 12 hours per day and weekends as necessary.
+ Capability to perform physical movements required for the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ Effective verbal communication skills in English, with some roles requiring written communication.
+ Reliability and dependability in reporting to company locations for assigned shifts.

Work Environment
The position is based in a newly renovated manufacturing facility that is temperature-controlled inside the building. The work environment includes extreme temperatures, noise, and dust, typical of a manufacturing plant. Safety is prioritized, and the role requires adherence to safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stroudsburg, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.18 - $24.18/hr.
