Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate** **Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Shipping and Receiving Associate who has 2-3 years of experience operating sit-down forklifts. The candidate will be responsible for manual data entry and logging, as well as supporting the current Clerk with any needs. This role requires a proactive individual who can efficiently manage shipping documents, verify shipments, and maintain organized records.

Responsibilities

+ Greet and check in delivery drivers, verify shipment paperwork, and direct them to appropriate dock areas.

+ Prepare and process shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and delivery logs.

+ Maintain shipment records using Microsoft Excel, Word, and handwritten logs.

+ Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, or load/unload materials as required.

+ Communicate with carriers and internal departments to coordinate pickups and deliveries.

+ Monitor dock activity and ensure timely loading/unloading by warehouse staff.

+ Resolve discrepancies in documentation and escalate issues when necessary.

+ Assist with filing, data entry, and generating reports for management.

+ Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure compliance with company procedures.

Essential Skills

+ 2-3 years of experience in shipping/receiving or logistics support.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

+ Strong communication and customer service skills.

+ Experience operating a sit-down forklift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with inventory control, order picking, packaging, and material handling.

+ Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

+ Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is generally clean, with a team-oriented culture. You will work in a shop alongside 20-25 people, including machinists, welders, fabricators, and mechanics. This is a hands-on role requiring manual dexterity and physical stamina. The position operates on the 1st shift, from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
