    Job Title: Sales Executive & Manager

    Job Description

    We are seeking an energetic and strategic Sales Executive & Manager to lead sales growth across the New York City and Northern New Jersey markets. This role combines hands-on business development with skilled team leadership, overseeing a network of independent sales representatives while collaborating closely with Inside Sales, Technical Services, and leadership. The ideal candidate is passionate about the lighting industry, highly knowledgeable in lighting applications and standards, and thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment. You will work directly with lighting designers, architects, engineers, distributors, and end users—serving as a trusted expert and champion for an innovative portfolio of lighting solutions.

    Responsibilities

    + Drive profitable sales growth throughout the Metro NY and Northern NJ region.

    + Achieve annual revenue targets while ensuring strong profit margins.

    + Partner closely with sales representatives, designers, distributors, and specifiers to support active projects and expand market reach.

    + Build, manage, and optimize a healthy sales pipeline through strategic planning and consistent follow-through.

    + Identify emerging opportunities, new markets, and non-traditional sales channels.

    + Maintain diligent control over sales-related budgets and expenses.

    + Represent the organization at industry associations, trade shows, and regional events.

    + Provide leadership, coaching, and structure to ensure territories are managed efficiently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while tracking and managing representative-level sales goals.

    + Deliver high-quality support to end users and key stakeholders.

    + Maintain open, effective communication across internal teams and external partners.

    + Offer actionable feedback to marketing on competitive activity, pricing, product trends, and enhancements.

    + Share best practices, foster team development, and elevate overall sales performance.

    + Serve as the subject-matter expert on all product applications, lighting principles, visual systems, and design concepts.

    + Bring enthusiasm and drive when presenting products to customers and internal teams.

    + Travel approximately 70% within the Metro NY and Northern NJ region, with occasional participation in national shows and periodic visits to company headquarters.

    Essential Skills

    + Engineering sales experience with an understanding of engineering.

    + Sales management experience.

    + Outside sales experience.

    + Proficiency in cold calling and business development.

    + Technical sales expertise.

    + Familiarity with Salesforce.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + 5+ years of HR experience.

    + Experience in engineering sales.

    + Experience in management.

    Work Environment

    The role operates in an office environment from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The work involves overseeing the NYC (5 boroughs) and Northern NJ areas, with travel to the headquarters in Stony Point, NY approximately once a month. The company culture is supportive, with opportunities for growth and taking on more responsibilities. The team is tenured, with some staff having been with the company for over 40 years. Regular ice cream socials occur once a week, and annual team picnics and events are part of the company tradition.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stony Point, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.31/hr.
