The Colorado Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has four major operational divisions: Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and Veterans Affairs. Description of Job
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
+ re/retro/continuous-commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and lighting systems to minimize energy and water consumption; adding/upgrading facility Energy Management Control System (EMCS) equipment and Automatic Meter Reading devices; and identifying, selecting, pricing, ordering, fabricating, inventorying, installing, modifying, certifying, calibrating, programming, commissioning, and developing reports for new and existing EMCS equipment;
+ monitoring all buildings tied to Building Automation Systems (BAS);
+ inspecting and assisting in cleaning, calibrating, repairing, and replacing of electronic controls and devices, and batteries related to HVAC systems;
+ troubleshooting the network connectivity of controllers and devices connected to the BAS;
+ collect data required for energy analysis of buildings and establish trending, reports, and graphics;
+ using trend data and building analysis to identify equipment/system deficiencies/faults to diagnose and resolve as well as communicate resolution and progress status;
+ perform corrective maintenance on controls that operate air handler units, cooling towers, vav boxes, fan power-vav boxes, thermostats, and other controls;
+ perform work with various types of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and computer operated temperature/humidity/carbon monoxide systems and air conditioning equipment;
+ execute sustainment/Restoration/modernization and military construction project commissioning, startup, training, project documentation validation, construction compliance validation, project meeting participation, and issue resolution;
+ carry out measurement and verification activities and assist with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification process on the facilities, systems, and equipment for existing buildings and new construction;
+ read blue prints and participate in design and specification reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal energy efficiency requirements;
+ coordinate facility schedules with building occupants and input schedules and events into the EMCS system and modify as necessary;
+ assist in emergencies and special events;
+ maintain tools and supplies;
+ develop and maintain complete electronic files and records of activities, projects, logs, and programs for easy access and accurate historical records; and
+ perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of technical experience with electronic Energy Management Control System(s) that includes installing, certifying, calibrating, programming, commissioning, fabricating, pricing, and developing reports.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or technical experience with electronic Energy Management Control System(s) that includes installing, certifying, calibrating, programming, commissioning, fabricating, pricing, and developing reports that is equivalent to two years.
Must:
Be available for regional facility travel up to 90% of the normal duty work hours, with between 5% to 10% overnight travel required with occasional travel outside of Colorado for multiple day training events.
Have ability to respond during after-hour emergencies in cases of equipment failure.
Preferred Qualifications (please clearly identify where and when you met these preferences):
Candidates whom meet the minimum qualification and also have the following skill sets will be given preference:
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point;
+ Strong oral and written communication skills;
+ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot the mechanical and electrical systems typically found in buildings;
+ Demonstrated experience with Tridium Niagara or Schneider Electric Continuum or Ecostruxure products, equipment and systems; and
+ Credentialed or certified in a related industry standard.

This position is in a work unit that normally works a 10-hour per day, 4 days per week schedule.
