Position Overview
The American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter provides communication access for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students in K–12 educational settings. This role supports student inclusion and academic participation by facilitating accurate, effective communication between students, educators, staff, and peers throughout the school day.
Assignment Details
+ Location: Lodi & Stockton, CA
+ Start Date: July 27, 2026
+ Duration: Approximately 46 weeks (2026–2027 school year)
+ Schedule: Monday–Friday
+ Hours: Approximately 35 hours per week
+ Pay Rate: $45 per hour
+ Modality: In-person only
+ Travel: Travel stipends and packages available

+ Grade Levels: K–12
+ Setting: General education and special education classrooms
Primary Responsibilities
+ Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities using American Sign Language (ASL)
+ Facilitate communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students and school personnel
+ Adapt interpreting approach to meet individual student needs and instructional context
+ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
+ Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote student success
+ Accurately document services in accordance with applicable requirements
Minimum Requirements
+ Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field preferred
+ State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter certification, if applicable
+ EIPA certification as required by contract or state regulation
+ RID certification as applicable per requirements
+ Compliance with all professional standards of practice
+ CPR certification if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest X-ray per requirements
+ Current health certificate per state or contract guidelines
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
