    Special Education Teacher – Life Skills

     

    $48/hr | Seguin, TX | Onsite | Full-Time

    Position Overview

    The Special Education Teacher provides instructional and behavioral support to K–12 students within a Life Skills classroom setting. This role emphasizes collaboration, individualized instruction, and student growth across academic, social, emotional, and functional skill areas. Positions are available across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

    Assignment Details

    + Location: Seguin, TX

    + Start Date: ASAP (estimated January 27, 2026)

    + End Date: May 21, 2026

    + Duration: Approximately 18 weeks

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday

    + Hours: 40 hours per week

    + Pay Rate: $48 per hour

    + Modality: Onsite

    + Openings: 2 positions

    Grade Levels & Classroom Type

    + Classroom Setting: Life Skills

    + Grade Levels: Elementary, Middle School, and High School (placement determined based on experience and availability)

    Caseload & Support Details

    + Caseload Size: Approximately 8–12 students

    + Classroom Ratio: 1:3 in Life Skills settings

    + Support Staff:

    + Paraprofessional support included

    + 1:1 support provided when designated

    Primary Responsibilities

    + Provide instructional activities that support students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development

    + Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s abilities and IEP goals

    + Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction

    + Collaborate with special education and general education staff

    + Support students in group and individualized settings within the Life Skills classroom

    Schedule Details

    + Elementary: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

    + Secondary: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred

    + Active state Special Education Teacher certification required

    + Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred

    + LBS1 endorsement preferred

    + For High School roles: General Education EC–12 certification required

    + For Elementary roles: Special Education EC–6 certification required

    + Compliance with all professional standards of practice

    + CPR certification if applicable

    + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray per requirements

    + Current health certificate per state or contract regulations

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
