Fire Proofer

Must be able to prepare and apply fire protection systems and sound control coatings. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Ensure proper materials, tools, and equipment are being used for the specified tasks.

+ Prepare and apply fire protection systems and sound control using coatings such as cement, gypsum, and acrylic.

+ Reads blueprints and data to determine requirements for the job.

+ Must be able to select the amount and type of fireproofing to be installed as well as a method of application according to the type and shape of surface.

+ Demonstrate the installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of fireproofing materials.

+ Organize and order material as needed.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

**Education** – no minimum education requirements.

**Experience** – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.

**Certifications/Licenses:** A Valid Driver’s License and TWIC Card
