Sales Manager
Compensation: $150K–$200K per year
Job Type: Full-time, In-person
At NY State Solar, we design, build, and install high-quality solar energy systems across New York. Our mission is to deliver exceptional customer experiences while helping communities transition to economically and environmentally sustainable energy solutions.
The Sales Manager will lead, develop, and scale our residential sales teams across New York City and Long Island. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through hands-on leadership, performance management, and process optimization in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The Sales Manager will work closely with leadership to execute sales strategies, improve conversion rates, and ensure consistent execution across all markets.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Recruit, onboard, mentor, and motivate sales representatives to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
+ Set clear individual performance goals and develop team members through coaching, ride-alongs/shadowing appointments, and weekly team training sessions.
+ Track and analyze sales performance data to identify trends, improve close rates, and optimize the sales funnel.
+ Partner with leadership to implement and refine sales processes, scripts, and best practices across all locations.
+ Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity to adjust sales strategies and maintain a strong local market presence.
+ Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and accountable team culture focused on continuous improvement.
+ Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness and guide strategic adjustments.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales management, with a proven track record of building and leading high performing sales teams proven success in the solar industry.
+ Manage a team of sales representatives, providing coaching, training, and motivation to achieve sales targets
+ Demonstrate a deep understanding of the solar PV market, encompassing industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
+ Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools is expected.
+ Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment.
