Job Summary
Supports daily production operations by coordinating the flow of customer and stock orders through the department. Releases and tracks work orders to support efficient workflow, on-time completion, and adherence to quality and safety requirements. Monitors production progress, identifies operational issues, and escalates concerns to the Supervisor. Assists with troubleshooting, problem resolution, and production-related communication as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Reviews daily production schedules and prioritizes work orders to meet customer delivery requirements.
+ Coordinates material availability with inventory, warehouse, or purchasing to prevent production delays.
+ Tracks production progress throughout the shift and escalates schedule risks or constraints to the Supervisor.
+ Ensures completed work orders are properly labeled and routed to the next operation or to shipping.
+ Prints and reviews customer and stock orders from the ERP system.
+ Issues work orders for assembly and production activities.
+ Ensures products are processed in accordance with established specifications and procedures.
+ Assists with the onboarding and training of new employees within the department.
+ Ensures customer and stock orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Operates forklift and tow motor to transfer materials as needed.
+ Uses computer systems to generate, track, and update production orders.
+ Communicates production status updates to the Supervisor and applicable department.
+ Assists with identifying process inefficiencies and recommends improvements related to workflow or material movement.
+ Demonstrates the ability to perform the various job duties within the department.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Skills
+ Ability to plan, sequence, and prioritize work orders to meet production schedules and delivery commitments.
+ Ability to read, interpret, and verify work orders, part numbers, bills of materials, and production specifications.
+ Working knowledge of ERP systems for printing, releasing, tracking, and closing production and stock orders.
+ Ability to identify bottlenecks and adjust job sequencing to minimize downtown.
+ Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of orders, quantities, and documentation.
+ Ability to operate forklifts or other material - handling equipment safely and efficiently.
+ Ability to use basic computer applications for data entry, order tracking, and reporting.
Education
+ Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Work Experience
+ 1 - 2 years of experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to track production progress and communicate status updates clearly to the Supervisor and support departments.
+ Strong understanding of production flow, work-in-porgress and material movement within a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.
+ Ability to stand and or walk for prolonged periods.
+ Ability to work continuously with average weights of 10 - 50 pounds independently.
+ Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, or noisy conditions.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
