This role requires associates to work out of a MVH North America hub location – New York City, NY.
Why This Role Matters:
The Director, Global Media drives MVH’s global growth by unifying and elevating media planning and buying across all banners into a single, enterprise-wide discipline focused on new client acquisition as measured by completed appointments with new pets.
You Will:
+ Leads the full transition of MVH’s $50M+ paid media investment to Publicis (OneMars), consolidating seven incumbent agencies into one global partner and integrating planning, buying, and measurement across five banners and two regions to create a sophisticated, demand-driving media program.
+ Grows value by expanding reach and engagement, developing new client acquisition strategies, and collaborating with channel, experience, and data teams to design and optimize client-lifecycle growth initiatives.
+ Plans and executes integrated global and banner campaigns across paid channels while managing centralized media capabilities, operations, measurement, optimization, and pilot programs.
+ Advances MVH’s media platform and technology in close partnership with the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) to unlock scalable growth and next-generation media capabilities, while navigating a resource-constrained environment and leading teams new to sophisticated marketing practices.
+ Drive New Client Acquisition – Grow value by expanding reach and engagement, developing acquisition strategies, and guiding Publicis to deliver measurable increases in first-time appointments with new pets.
+ Lead Publicis Transition – Oversee the global migration from seven incumbent media agencies to Publicis, ensuring continuity of campaigns, clean handoffs, and on-time, on-budget completion.
+ Integrate Banner Media – Develop and execute a unified media strategy across VCA, Banfield, BluePearl, and MVH Europe (Linnaeus and AniCura), aligning objectives, KPIs, and budget allocations to drive organic growth.
+ Advance Media Platform & Technology – Partner with the CDIO and digital/data teams to modernize MVH’s media infrastructure, enabling advanced targeting, analytics, attribution, and automation.
+ Plan & Execute Global Campaigns – Direct Publicis in the planning, buying, and optimization of integrated global and banner campaigns across paid, media channels to maximize efficiency, reach, and ROI.
+ Measurement & Optimization – Establish shared metrics, dashboards, and test-and-learn protocols to track performance, optimize spend, and accelerate pilot programs into scalable investments.
+ Operate in Resource-Constrained Settings – Build business cases, design pilots, and apply challenger-control approaches to prove impact and secure scaled funding.
+ Change Leadership – Champion adoption of modern media practices across banners, coaching teams new to sophisticated marketing to embrace data-driven, client-lifecycle growth initiatives.
+ Stakeholder Alignment – Partner with banner client leads, finance, procurement, and global teams to ensure media investments support enterprise growth objectives.
+ Team Leadership – Build and lead a small global media team to manage agency performance, channel strategy, and continuous innovation.
Your Experience Should Include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field required. (MBA not required.)
+ Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in digital advertising and media, gained within a global brand, consumer services company, or advertising agency.
+ Proven success leading large-scale agency transitions and global media consolidations.
+ Deep expertise in data, analytics, and technology platforms for media planning, buying, measurement, and automation.
+ Demonstrated ability to innovate in consumer services marketing for high-involvement, high-emotional connection categories (e.g., financial services, hospitality, D2C subscription services). This is not a job for packaged goods marketers.
+ Experience operating in resource-constrained, complex, matrixed organizations, with a strong track record of influencing without direct authority.
+ Ability to design and scale pilots, test-and-learn programs, and business cases that build confidence and unlock future investment.
+ Strong experience managing complex paid media budgets ($50M+), negotiating contracts, and optimizing ROI.
• **Salary Range:** $154,440 - $241,313
Compensation is determined based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and market competitiveness.
