Construction Shop Helper

We are seeking a dependable **Construction Shop Helper** to support daily operations in our construction shop. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, learning new skills, and assisting with the preparation and assembly of building materials. You will work closely with shop leads and carpenters to ensure the shop runs efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with cutting, measuring, and preparing materials for carpenters and assemblers

+ Operate basic shop tools such as saws, drills, hand tools, and nail guns

+ Load and unload materials, keep workstations stocked, and organize inventory

+ Maintain shop cleanliness and follow all safety procedures

+ Support assembly of components such as walls, trusses, stairs, or other building parts (depending on shop)

+ Help with material staging, palletizing, and preparing orders for production

+ Perform general labor tasks as assigned by shop supervisors

Ideal Candidate Has:

+ Ability to read a tape measure to 1/8" accuracy

+ Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools

+ Ability to lift 50–75 lbs as needed

+ Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

+ Ability to work in a fast‑paced, production‑oriented environment

+ Dependable attendance and teamwork skills

+ 6+ months experience in construction, carpentry, manufacturing, or general labor (not required but helpful)

+ Experience with nail guns, table saws, chop saws, or pneumatic tools

+ Forklift or material‑handling experience is a plus

+ Basic blueprint reading is a plus

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUGO, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
