    Senior Logistics Finance Analyst

    A client of ours is looking for a Senior Logistics Finance Analyst for a contract role The Senior Logistics Finance Analyst plays a critical role in supporting logistics, supply chain, and operational planning through financial analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting. This role partners cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Finance to ensure inventory deployment, logistics spend, and service levels align with business objectives while driving data-informed decision-making.

     

    Responsibilities of Senior Logistics Finance Analyst

     

    + Develop and maintain short- and long-term financial forecasts related to logistics, inventory deployment, and supply chain operations.

    + Analyze supply and demand trends, inventory positions, and service levels to identify risks and opportunities.

    + Partner with operations and logistics teams to support delivery commitments, inventory targets, and cost optimization initiatives.

    + Prepare and present actionable financial and operational insights to support strategic planning and business reviews.

    + Monitor performance against forecasts and budgets, investigating variances and recommending corrective actions.

    + Support annual planning, budgeting, and ongoing financial modeling related to logistics and supply chain activities.

    Requirements

    Skills/Qualifications of Senior Logistics Finance Analyst

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.

    + 5+years of experience in logistics finance, supply chain finance, forecasting, or inventory-related financial analysis.

    + 3+years of experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and analytics supporting operational or logistics functions.

    + Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.

    + Demonstrated business acumen and ability to think strategically while managing detailed financial analysis.

    + Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with finance, supply chain, operations, and commercial teams.

    + Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, and complex formulas) and PowerPoint.

    + Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and forecasting or planning tools (John Galt or similar preferred).

    + Comfortable working with logistics, inventory, and financial reporting systems; ability to quickly learn new technologies.

    + Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    + Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
