    Job Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter to prepare comprehensive drawing packages that adhere to codes and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, translate design requirements into precise configurations, and coordinate the implementation of design criteria using industrial tools.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare comprehensive drawing packages complying with codes and regulatory standards.

    + Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent electrical hazards and other risks.

    + Translate design requirements into precise configurations and perform calculations from sketches for proposals.

    + Coordinate the implementation of design criteria using industrial tools.

    + Participate in planning meetings and adapt designs to evolving project needs.

    + Ensure compliance with contractual specifications and local regulations while meeting project deadlines.

    + Communicate progress effectively to leadership and stakeholders through clear reporting and presentations.

    + Collaborate with engineers and production staff to interpret design concepts and ensure alignment with project goals.

    + Review all relevant documentation, company procedural manuals, and customer specifications to identify critical design attributes.

    + Perform detailed calculations to support product design and structural integrity.

    + Analyze vendor quotes, drawings, and diagrams to create accurate structural layouts for customers.

    + Revise designs and drawings based on change orders, customer requests, or identified errors during construction.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor with 2+ years of experience.

    + Experience in structural steel drafting for buildings, enclosures, and packaged skids.

    + Strong skills in CAD and drafting.

    + Ability to perform detailed calculations for structural integrity.

    + Experience in analyzing vendor quotes and creating structural layouts.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in industrial design tools.

    + Capability to adapt designs to evolving project needs.

    + Excellent communication skills for effective reporting and presentations.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
