    Job Title: Quality Control Chemist

    Job Description

    This role requires the use of independent judgment to analyze and assess the quality of products using analytical equipment pertinent to the application of specialized skills. The position involves various laboratory procedures related to the analysis of bulk and pharmaceutical chemicals, employing techniques such as FT-IR, Loss On Drying, Non-volatile Residue, moisture analysis, and other methods. Candidates will operate laboratory equipment, including HPLC and GC systems, and maintain a thorough and organized laboratory notebook. The role also includes troubleshooting and repairing laboratory instruments and potentially performing peer reviews of commercial product laboratory data. Critical thinking and understanding of specialized analytical equipment and chemical compatibility are essential for accurately and safely analyzing chemical entities to determine the quality of manufactured pharmaceutical compounds.

    Responsibilities

    + Analyze and determine the quality of products using specialized analytical equipment.

    + Perform laboratory procedures for analyzing bulk and pharmaceutical chemicals.

    + Conduct sample analysis using FT-IR, Loss On Drying, Non-volatile Residue, and moisture analysis.

    + Operate HPLC and GC systems for sample analyses.

    + Maintain an organized and detailed laboratory notebook.

    + Troubleshoot and repair various laboratory instruments.

    + Perform peer reviews of laboratory data for commercial products.

    Essential Skills

    + Chemistry or Biochemistry degree.

    + Proficiency in FTIR, KF, and GC techniques.

    + Experience in laboratory and quality control processes.

    + Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with analytical laboratory equipment.

    + Familiarity with chemical laboratory processes and test equipment.

    + Ability to work with specialized analytical equipment and computer systems.

    Work Environment

    The workplace includes areas where a variety of chemical materials are used and stored, with potential exposure to variable noise levels. A high consciousness for personal and equipment safety is required. The QC Laboratory operates 24/7/365, necessitating flexibility in working all shifts. The position is a day shift role, Monday through Friday, with a start time between 6am-8am.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cordova, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
