    Job Title: Civil Design Engineer

    Job Description

    Lead the design and development of transportation projects, including roadways and infrastructure for state agencies, municipalities, and tollway authorities. Apply advanced knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, Tollway, and municipal design standards, procedures, and specifications. Develop innovative, technically sound solutions that meet project requirements and comply with applicable codes and standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and efficient project delivery. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff. Prepare and review design documents, calculations, and reports for accuracy and compliance. Utilize design software tools effectively; experience with MicroStation CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer is preferred. Maintain proactive communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

    + Minimum of 5 years of design experience within a consulting engineering environment

    + In-depth knowledge of Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois Tollway design standards

    + Proficiency in MicroStation, including CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer

    + Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design

    + Excellent problem-solving abilities

    + Strong communication and leadership skills

    Work Environment

    The office is located downtown in the West Loop, offering convenient transportation access. The workweek consists of 40 hours, with five hours on Fridays. The company offers a hybrid work schedule with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The transportation team fosters a fun and light-hearted atmosphere while maintaining a focus on hard work. The company emphasizes work-life balance, offering flexibility with time and half days every Friday.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
