    Job Title: Interior Designer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a talented Interior Designer responsible for managing project design from concept to completion, under the guidance of a Senior Designer. The role involves ensuring internal deliverables align with project schedules and interpreting designs to create tangible solutions. You will create space plans, drawings, models, and other design-related documents, primarily using SketchUp and Enscape, while understanding client requirements and constraints.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage project design from concept to completion with oversight from Senior Designer.

    + Ensure internal deliverables and approvals align with project schedule.

    + Interpret designs and drive concepts towards tangible solutions under the direction of Visionary and Senior Designer.

    + Create space plans, drawings, models, images, material, and mood boards.

    + Coordinate and review with outside consultants for renderings, modeling, and prototypes.

    + Present designs internally and to clients, exhibiting live problem-solving skills.

    + Lead internal project team coordination for plans, specifications, and material selections.

    + Ensure project design meets client needs before presentation and address any design conflicts.

    + Train and mentor junior designers.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.

    + 4-6 years of relevant experience in an interiors firm.

    + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.

    + Experience with custom restaurant projects and hospitality work.

    + Ability to train and mentor junior designers.

    + Experience in schematic design (SD) and design development (DD).

    + Knowledge of FF&E selections.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Portfolio showcasing custom restaurants and hospitality work.

    + Experience with custom design development and schematic design.

    + Proficiency in creating mood boards and space planning.

    Work Environment

    The office is located on the outskirts of West Loop, featuring a lively and open office concept. It is a dog-friendly workspace, with a flexible schedule allowing work from home on Fridays. The workweek averages 42-45 hours, with potential increases during deadlines. The team enjoys outings, such as visiting the brewery across the street and annual weekend retreats for team bonding. Employees receive 10 days of PTO in the first year, increasing with tenure, along with holiday pay and time off between Christmas and New Year's.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.86/hr.
