    Who You Are

     

    We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our IoT Connected Backend Services team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing and maintaining backend services that power IoT applications. You will work closely with experienced engineers/Software Developers and contribute to projects that have a real impact on our products and services.

    What You’ll Do

    + Assist in the design, development, optimization and deployment of backend services for IoT applications.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IoT devices with cloud-based platforms.

    + Participate in the development of APIs and microservices to support IoT data processing and analytics.

    + Help in optimizing and scaling backend systems to handle large volumes of IoT data.

    + Conduct testing and debugging of backend services to ensure reliability and performance.

    + Document technical specifications and processes for future reference.

    + Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in IoT and backend development.

    Qualifications

    + Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

    + Very good understanding of programming languages such as Typescript, Python, Java, C or Node.js.

    + Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.

    + Knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL).

    + Experience with IoT device firmware development is an advantage

    + Mobile Development experience is an advantage

    + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

    + Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

    Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.
