    We are currently looking for a Senior/Principal Engineer for our Houston, TX office.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The engineer will provide engineering support on a variety of natural gas pipeline facility projects to provide for the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation of natural gas.

     

    This person will be responsible for overseeing the design and engineering of pipeline facilities, ensuring designs comply with company specifications, assist with scope development with estimating/project development groups, and support construction activities. This person will be responsible for checking drawing packages and managing engineering contractors to ensure adherence to project goals as well as company and industry specifications, codes, and standards. This person will select appropriate material and equipment and ensure it is fit for purpose. This person will support various project managers and numerous projects. This position will primarily support pipeline facility projects.

    REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited university program.

    + Licensed professional engineer.

    + Minimum of 10 years’ experience in related field and at least 10 years of experience working with the creation, review, or approval of engineering design drawings.

    + Minimum 5 years’ experience with the management of Engineering Contractors

    + Minimum 3 years’ experience with the creation, execution, and management of engineering contracts and scopes of work

    + Experience with managing budgets and material procurement

    + Strong technical writing capabilities required to draft engineering, construction, and land contracts.

    + Strong skill level in Microsoft Excel Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project

    + Well organized with a high degree of initiative and motivation

    + Ability to work positively and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment

    + Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with team members, clients permitting agency personnel and contractors.

    + Capable of speaking to management on behalf of the project team

    + Valid driver’s license and insurability

    + Able to travel up to 30% of the time and willing to spend extended time (up to 4 to 6 weeks) if required for difficult projects that may require on-site engineering support.

    PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Understanding of the design requirements for pipelines and the applicable ASME B31.8 and 49 CFR Part 192 codes

    + Interest in staying focused on the engineering of facilities. Looking for an individual interested in the technical aspects of projects and managing the engineering and design of facilities.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, Licensed Professional Engineer
