Payroll Integration Specialist - ADP Globalview
- TEKsystems (Broomfield, CO)
-
TEKsystems has a 3-5 month remote contract role for a Payroll Intergration Specialist with ADP Globalview experience.
Our client is hiring a senior Payroll Integration Specialist to assist with a project to migrate their employee payroll from UKG and Dayforce to ADP GlobalView. This project is specific to U.S. payroll, will impact approximately 5,000 users, and is scheduled to go-live in July 2026.
The consultant will:
- take Payroll data from the existing legacy systems (UKG and Dayforce) and convert the data to ADP so that when testing is done with ADP payroll, it matches up to a 95% or better threshold to what's coming out of UKG and Dayforce.
- need an understanding of payroll processing and how it works; how to move and manipulate data in Excel, and how to move the data from one payroll system to another (ADP GlobalView). The data has already been extracted from legacy payroll systems.
- work with the end client's team as well as ADP's team.
- need to have a good understanding of the full payroll process and be able to work with Excel in legacy payroll systems and transform the data to ADP.
- be able to rollup their sleeves, do deep dives into Excel files (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) in order to get to raw data that needs to be transformed from Dayforce and UKG to ADP GlobalView.
Required Experience:
- senior US payroll expertise (multi-state/local tax, benefits, garnishments)
- Payroll system transition experience (ideally UKG, Dayforce, ADP)
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, pivots, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, structured tables; optional: Power Pivot)
- Data reconciliation and root cause analysis
- Strong program execution: issue tracking, prioritization, partnering with others
- “Get into the weeds” operator: will pull raw files, normalize data, and reconcile to penny-level where required
Preferred Experience:
- 5–8 years experience in Payroll systems, HRIS data conversion, Payroll testing or implementation roles.
- Prior experience on at least one payroll system migration.
- Mix of functional payroll knowledge + hands-on data work (Payroll implementation consulting, HRIS analyst roles, Payroll systems analyst roles).
Ideal Profile or Skillset:
1. Data analysis & technical skills
Advanced Excel and/or data manipulation (i.e. data scientist) skills (non-negotiable):
- Pivot tables, lookups (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP), conditional logic
- Payroll-level reconciliations at scale

- CSV / flat file manipulation
- File format validation (field length, data type, headers/trailers)

2. Reconciliation & variance analysis expertise

- Balance hours, gross pay, deductions, taxes, and net pay

Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processing, including:
- Earnings, deductions, taxes, net pay
- Retro pay, off-cycle payrolls, adjustments
- Garnishments, benefits, and employer costs
Hands-on experience with parallel payroll testing
Ability to distinguish:
- Expected differences (earnings, deductions, taxes, rounding, timing, config design)
- True payroll defects vs known variances
4. Source system expertise (UKG & Dayforce)
Solid background in large-scale payroll system migrations is more important than specific experience with the above systems
Experience extracting and validating data from:
- UKG payroll, time, and HR modules
- Dayforce payroll, workforce management, and HR
- Experience with other Payroll systems will suffice
- Experience with Payroll taxes including YTD totals
Understanding of:
- Effective-dated records

- ADP configuration drivers (earning codes, deduction rules, tax setup)

Experience with other Payroll systems transitions will suffice
6. Process rigor & documentation
- Experience creating and maintaining:

- Extract and load runbooks
- Reconciliation workpapers
Defect and issue logs
Strong attention to detail and audit-quality documentation
7. Stakeholder & communication skills
