    We have an exciting new opportunity within the GA ITS Solutions Applications Development and Innovation Architecture organization for a Senior Mendix Developer experienced in Mendix and Cloud Native application development and digital transformation.

     

    As Senior Mendix Developer you will lead architectural and development Mendix efforts that will help GA ITS realize a transformation strategy for the business applications and development platforms across the enterprise. You will lead the transition from a largely on-prem traditional application environment to a modern cloud-forward environment.     This position offers a 9/80 work schedule as well as flexible work location.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Create web and mobile applications using the Mendix platform

    + Extend application logic and integration interfaces with custom Java

    + Help maintain architectural governance, quality, and consistency of applications

    + Be present throughout the application lifecycle

    + Test and troubleshoot applications

    + Solicit, deduce and document epics and user stories from customer requirements

    + Setup database structures and relationships, develop application workflows, create application logic, create integration interfaces via Web Services, create Graphical User Interface Layouts.

    + Provide guidance to other developers regarding the end-to-end application design (data model, UX design, API’s and frameworks, micro-services, containers, databases, and cloud services, etc.)

    Job Qualifications:

    + Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field and fourteen or more years of progressive professional applications developer experience.

    + Must be a US Citizen.

    + 4+ years’ experience in Mendix Development. (Preferred Expert Certified).

    + Experience extending Mendix via Java extensions.

    + Proven experience as a Java Full Stack Developer or similar role.

    + Strong experience with Agile Scrum.

    + Experience developing desktop and mobile applications.

    + Strong proficiency in cloud native, microservice based application development.

    + Experience designing RESTful APIs that facilitate a superior UX and simplify systems integration.

    + Understanding of cloud technologies and offerings such as AWS or Azure with at least expertise and/or certification in one while having an aptitude and appetite to learn others.

    + Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, XPath, XML, jQuery).

    + Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Node.js).

    + Skilled in database structures and design.

    + Ability to master various web technologies and techniques.

    + Skilled in adopting new technology to meet application requirements.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Sharp attention to detail.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Prior Federal government and defense experience.

    + Experience designing and developing applications for manufacturing solutions.

    + Implementation experience with emerging technologies - such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Intelligent Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine learning (ML) applications and Internet of Things (IOT) and mobility/wearables technologies.

    + Knowledge of iPaaS, API Management, and application integration methodologies.

    + Advanced knowledge and implementation of RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
