    Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc (San Jose, CA)


    Summary This engineer works with customers during the qualification of Toshiba HDD products and when these products are shipped to customers for their production. He/She operates in a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary environment where teamwork, communication, and customer interaction skills are mandatory to win qualification of Toshiba products at key customers and to support revenue shipments of products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Conduct technical meetings on current and future storage product lines.

    + Provide technical documents and explanations to customers and internal teams.

    + Work with customers and Japan teams to develop joint qualification plans, determine required equipment, and develop schedules to meet the customer’s needs.

    + Diagnose, debug and document customer technical issues to facilitate solutions and closure of issues.

    + Track customer technical requirements to provide to Marketing, Sales, Japan Engineering and Product Planning teams

    + Develop technical presentation materials.

    + Track factory quality both at customer sites and Toshiba manufacturing sites.

    + Provide quality reports to both customers and Japan quality teams

    + Perform preliminary failure analysis on drives that fail during qualifications and drives returned for urgent field issues.

    + Generate reports and provide timely reporting to customers and internal teams

    + Track status on drives sent to Japan for further failure analysis.

    + Perform other duties as may be assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    + 5 plus years of experience in the HDD or computer industry.

    + Must be very familiar with HDD technologies, manufacturing and test processes, and factory quality systems, have excellent knowledge of quality control tools, statistical process control, and reliability prediction methodologies.

    + Knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems and can write scripts to test HDDs.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication and customer engagement skills.

    Education

    + Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Electronics or Computer Science).

     

    Salary Range: $99,400 - $131,700
