Koniag Government Solutions, LLC,** is seeking a Research Writer - INTERNSHIP position supporting IMS. This opportunity offers the chance to work with some of the best and brightest minds in KGS and ISS. The Summer Internship program is a temporary program. **This is a Remote opportunity.
The Research Writer - INTERNSHIP is an integral component of our KGS IMS team who is supporting our Government Contracts, many of which are around the ‘IT Modernization & Digital Transformation’ theme.
The ideal candidate is mainly and not limited to a team player, positive & open-minded, willing to learn, actively participates, excited to share new ideas and methods as a Research Writer - INTERNSHIP.
Your position, roles and responsibilities will be managed by both:
KGS IMS Intern Manager:
+ Oversees intern’s daily assignments
+ Develop a plan for success tailored for each intern
+ Overview of assigned program
+ HR and the Onboarding Process
+ Specific Duties & Cross-Functional Expectations
+ Best Practices
+ Key Contacts
KGS VP of Quality Intern Program Coordinator & Mentor:
+ Serves as a KGS mentor in the broader organization
+ Coordinates with Intern Manager to gauge intern’s success, referrals to other programs, etc.
General Description of the KGS IMS Internship roles, responsibilities and assignments:
+ Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to provide support across a range of Microsoft Office 365 (O365) products and services.
+ This internship offers hands-on experience with real-world business tools and workflows in a corporate environment.
+ The ideal candidate will support the development, maintenance, and optimization of internal processes and documentation using the O365 suite, with a focus on Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and related applications.
+ The ideal candidates will also have research assignments.
The following skills and experience are preferred:
+ Understanding of Federal Government Contracts and Contractor support of Federal Government Contracts.
+ Understanding of Portfolio, Program, Project Management, including Agile Project Management.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications, especially Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
+ Aptitude to work independently researching assignments or supporting a specific research request.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
+ Strong interest in process improvement, automation, and digital tools.
+ Welcome fresh eyes, fresh ideas from the intern on the below activities, for example: Identify inefficiencies, recommendations for improvements, new ideas, new tools, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Support specific Research assignments.
+ Support specific Writing assignments.
+ Assist in the development and maintenance of a Portfolio Dashboard and a Risk Dashboard using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SharePoint.
+ Create, Manage and update a shared PTO calendar, ensuring accuracy and visibility across teams.
+ Support the preparation and reconciliation of expense reports.
+ Assist in reconciling customer timesheets with internal Koniag timesheets, ensuring alignment and accuracy.
+ Attend meetings and provide note-taking support, capturing and distributing key takeaways and action items.
+ Help maintain and update documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and various templates.
+ Track and organize contractual and client deliverables for internal and external visibility, such as a weekly or monthly status report.
+ Explore and assist in the integration and automation of O365 tools across Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook, improving workflow efficiency.
+ Create & Maintain Inventory of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) & Koniag inventory of software, hardware.
+ Create Department or Contract program tailored TEMPLATES.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ 0-2 years demonstrated experience with Cloud Email, Collaboration Sites/Shared Workspace, Office Suites capabilities and solutions (desktop or Cloud).
+ 0-5 years demonstrated experience in a ‘Customer environment’ serving the customer.
+ Strong problem solving and analysis skills, self-motivated, and able to work and communicate in a team environment.
+ Knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks.
+ Knowledge and knowledge in software development lifecycles.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Knowledge with Federal Government Contracts or Feral Consulting.
+ Experience with Excel is preferred.
Education:
+ High School Education
+ Associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in business Admin and Financial degree is preferred
