    Job Title: Hydraulic Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled technician focused on the hydraulic systems of heavy-duty trucks. The role involves fabricating truck body parts using measurement tools, reading blueprints, and cutting materials using plasma cutters or shears. You will use punch presses, drills, saws, and other tools to fabricate and weld equipment. Daily communication with the shop manager is essential for efficient operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Focus on hydraulic systems of heavy-duty trucks.

    + Fabricate truck body parts using measurement tools.

    + Read and interpret blueprints for fabrication tasks.

    + Cut materials using plasma cutters or shears.

    + Utilize punch presses, drills, saws, and other tools.

    + Fabricate and weld equipment using MIG welding techniques.

    + Maintain daily communication with the shop manager.

    Essential Skills

    + 5 years of experience in MIG welding.

    + 5 years of experience with hydraulic systems in heavy truck equipment.

    + 1 year of experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.

    + 5 years of experience using tools such as cutting tools, impact wrenches, or torches.

    + Mechanical inclination.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Weld certifications or schooling.

    + Experience with trucks or trailers.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is a first shift role, working from 7 AM to 5 PM. The schedule includes 9.5-hour days from Monday to Friday, with two Saturdays per month from 7 AM to 11 AM, totaling over 50 hours weekly. The company specializes in snow and ice truck equipment and build-ups and also performs body repairs on buses, mail trucks, and other large heavy vehicles.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CALEDONIA, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
