    The Rheumatology outpatient clinic provides quality therapeutic and diagnostic care for adult patients with rheumatologic concerns or disorders. It is part of our recognized Bone & Joint Center, where our highly trained staff includes a team of orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, physiatrists, rheumatologists, rehab therapists and athletic trainers. Rheumatologists at Straub Clinic & Hospital provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for diseases that affect the body's connective tissue.

     

    As the Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that Straub rheumatology patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at our hospitals and clinics. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in a variety of administrative tasks. These include: interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records; performing accurate and timely processing of all professional and technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection. We are looking for a sensitive and helpful individual with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

    **Minimum Qualifications:** High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a healthcare setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.

    **Preferred Qualifications:** International Classification of Diseases, 9th edition (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Coding Certification. Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC.
