About you and this role
Auburn manufacturing Site has an exciting opening for an Analytical technician. The unit operations at this Site are primarily mixed based (low, medium and high shear) along with the associated postproduction finishing operations. The Site’s strategy focuses on low volume, high margin specialty materials being consumed into very challenging markets like electronics, aerospace and automotive. A high degree of customer focus and attention to detail is essential for our Site’s success and our respective business.
Supports manufacturing operations by conducting laboratory analyses and evaluating results, as needed, which provides critical data. Prepares samples and may perform basic calibration, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and methods. Uses data systems to acquire data and monitor analytical system performance. Reports results to clients. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities.
Responsibilities
+ Prepares samples for analysis
+ Uses work instructions to conduct routine physical and analytical property analysis on raw materials, in-process and finished product.
+ May perform basic calibration and preventative maintenance of analytical systems.
+ Evaluates validity of data, applies basic statistics, interpret results and takes appropriate action.
+ Monitors analytical systems, identifies problems, conducts first-line troubleshooting and escalates as appropriate.
+ Documents, communicates and archives analytical results and calibration data.
+ Follows EH&S and operating discipline management system (ODMS) procedures and practices for work tasks.
+ Suggests improvements to lab work processes and tools.
+ Escalates non-routine requests to appropriate team members for follow-up
+ Maintains accurate records of test results and sample management
+ Performs assigned work in a safe manner that complies with regulatory and company requirements
Required Qualification
+ A minimum of a High School Diploma
+ Be able to work 12 hr 3-2-2 rotating shift schedule (including weekends and holidays that fall on scheduled workdays)
+ Must be 18 years old or older.
+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available for this position including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
PreferredQualifications
+ Post-Upper-Secondary Education coursework in chemistry or related coursework
+ Completion of Vocational Education or Upper Secondary Education (i.e. High School Diploma) plus laboratory, manufacturing or other related experience
