Definition
Under general supervision, is responsible for operating modern reprographic systems to produce printed material according to job orders; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)
+ Operates a photocopy machine or other related duplicating or reprographic system; cleans and makes minor adjustments to such equipment as permitted by manufacturer and/or contract; may operate several machines simultaneously;
+ Performs bindery work; operates collator, drill press, paper cutter, folder, stapler and padding board;
+ Operates digital copier/printer systems and mailing equipment;
+ Operates a personal computer and related software to prepare digital documents for printing;
+ Orders, checks and shelves supplies;
+ Sorts, collates and staples printed material; wraps and addresses printed materials as directed;
+ Operates copier/scanner to scan documents to network folders and email recipients;
+ Organizes scanned images into file folders accessible from network drives;
+ May learn to operate an offset press.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate competency in the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below as determined through the competitive testing process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of modern office practices; some knowledge of alphabetic and numeric filing systems; ability to operate modern reprographic systems; ability to operate at least two (2) duplicating machines simultaneously; ability to make minor adjustments to the equipment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates; ability to maintain attention to detail; ability to communicate effectively; ability to operate a personal computer and utilize related software.

The names of the applicants passing this administration of this exam will be used to create aNEW, OPEN COMPETITIVE, eligible list for this classification. If you are interested in having your name included on the new eligible list, you will need to apply for this exam within the filing period and successfully complete all phases of the testing process. Questions regarding this process can be directed to the Test Center at 614-645-7439.
The examination process will consist of a multiple-choice exam weighted 50% covering Information Ordering, Problem Sensitivity, and Reading Print/Copy Work Orders; a computer skills exam weighted 30% covering spelling, Outlook 2010 and Name and Number Comparison; and an Experience Evaluation weighted 20%.
Approved applicants will be notified by mail/email of their scheduled test date and time.
All applicants must complete all phases of the testing process in order to receive a final score. The names of all candidates who pass this examination will remain on the eligible list for two years, unless the eligible list is replaced prior to or extended beyond the two years. If a candidate's name is certified and the candidate is to be considered for employment, the hiring process will include one or more interviews, a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug test.
