    Job Title: Forklift Operator

    Job Description

    The Forklift Operator will be responsible for efficiently picking orders off racks using RF scanning technology and performing general shipping and receiving tasks. The role involves operating a forklift approximately 70% of the time, with the remaining 30% dedicated to other warehouse duties. Experience in loading trucks, shrink wrapping, and breaking down pallets is highly beneficial, and food handling experience is considered a plus.

    Responsibilities

    + Pick orders off racks using RF scanning technology.

    + Operate a sit-down forklift, preferably with previous certification.

    + Load trucks and wrap pallets, ensuring items are securely packed.

    + Ensure the exact quantity and type of product is prepared and pulled consistently.

    + Perform picking duties efficiently, meeting process standards.

    + Maintain a dependable and reliable work ethic as a self-starter and team player.

    + Follow directions and procedures accurately without deviation.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 1 year of experience in a distribution warehouse setting.

    + Proficiency with RF Scan gun usage and WMS systems.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle pallet weights up to 2500 pounds.

    + Experience with 2-prong forklifts and loading 53' trailers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Prior shipping experience.

    + Experience in a food distribution warehouse is advantageous.

    + Flexible with daily work assignments and able to adapt as needed.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is climate-controlled, ensuring comfort while operating within a warehouse and distribution setting.

     

    The role requires reliable transportation for a schedule of Monday to Friday, from 11:30am-8pm; shift may change to 2:30pm-11:00pm at a later date.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
