Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Hanover, Maryland. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial processes and ensure the accuracy of accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in core accounting practices and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, including reviewing and posting journal entries.

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and resolve discrepancies.

• Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support decision-making processes.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting operations.

• Assist in audits by providing detailed documentation and support as needed.

• Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements in all accounting activities. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and accounting standards.
