Position summary:
Fully manage all services provided by the TRIO SSS Program and serves as the Project Director for the TRIO EOC and TRIO UB programs to ensure program objectives are met of having selected students maintain academic good standing, persist each year, graduate and transfer to a four-year university.
Position responsibilities:
+ Provide strategic leadership and vision for all TRIO Programs (SSS, UB, EOC), ensuring alignment with federal regulations, institutional goals, and student success initiatives.
+ Develop and execute program plans, goals, and objectives in accordance with U.S. Department of Education TRIO grant guidelines.
+ Monitor program performance and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional policies, including grant objectives, allowable costs, and reporting requirements.
+ Prepare and submit annual performance reports (APR) and other documentation to the U.S. Department of Education in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate TRIO program staff, fostering a collaborative and student-centered work environment.
+ Provide ongoing professional development opportunities and performance coaching to promote staff effectiveness and growth.
+ Oversee the delivery of academic advising, tutoring, mentoring, financial aid assistance, career exploration, and transfer support services for program participants.
+ Ensure that programs are comprehensive and responsive to the needs of first-generation, low-income, and academically at-risk students.
+ Implement and maintain data systems to track participants progress, outcomes, and program effectiveness.
+ Analyze data to inform continuous improvement and guide decision-making
+ Develop and implement recruitment strategies to identify and enroll eligible participants across TRIO programs.
+ Build partnerships with high schools, community organizations, and internal departments to support TRIO outreach efforts.
+ Lead grant renewal and reapplication efforts, including needs assessment, narrative development, and submission of competitive grant proposals.
+ Serve as a liaison between TRIO programs and campus departments (e.g., financial aid, advising, student success) to support holistic student support.
+ Participate on institutional committees and initiatives that promote access, opportunity, and student retention for TRIO participants.
+ Promote awareness and visibility of TRIO programs on campus and in the community
Minimum Position Requirements:
+ Master’s in a related field.
+ Experience in a higher education setting which includes one or more of the following: counseling, advising, or teaching.
+ Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Must have an in-depth knowledge of adult learners and appropriate support methods/techniques.
+ Must be able to prepare and administer an operational budget.
+ Must be able to work and lead in a typical office environment, including appropriate computer skills and skills in supervision of professional and clerical staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ 5 Full-Time Direct Reports 1 Part-Time Direct Reports
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
+ Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office and classroom environment.
+ No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
+ No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

+ Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.

+ Compensation for this 12-month position is $ 65,657
Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program.
All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Federal law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens. All persons hired must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.
