Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will oversee the accuracy of financial records, implement robust accounting controls, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will also lead and develop accounting staff while providing insightful financial data to support decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation and review of general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and irregularities are addressed.
• Manage the monthly closing process, including the creation and posting of necessary journal entries.
• Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely year-end closings and compliance.
• Supervise the Project Accounting team, enhancing reporting processes and conducting training for new team members.
• Audit project-related financials, budgets, schedules, and resource planning for accuracy and efficiency.
• Evaluate internal accounting procedures and implement improvements to optimize departmental performance and enforce quality control.
• Support audits and external reporting by preparing necessary data and collaborating with leadership.
• Develop financial models, metrics, and KPIs to monitor company and project performance effectively. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance leadership role, preferably within the construction or contractor industry.
• Proficiency in Deltek Vision software is highly desirable.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros and complex formulas.
• Proven ability to manage and develop accounting personnel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with forecasting, statistical reporting, and data analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
