Description We are looking for success-driven and detail-oriented professionals to join our team as Benefits Customer Service Associates in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a contract position supporting the City of Baltimore's annual Open Enrollment period, where you will play a vital role in assisting employees and retirees with their health benefits. The assignment includes a paid training period followed by Open Enrollment, with the potential for extension based on operational needs.
Responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service to employees and retirees by answering inquiries related to health benefits during Open Enrollment.
• Assist individuals in navigating the City’s online benefits system and ensure accurate data entry of enrollment information.
• Educate employees on eligibility requirements and available health benefits options, including Medicare-related information.
• Handle a high volume of calls and interactions with professionalism and efficiency.
• Maintain organized and accurate records for benefits enrollment and related documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during the Open Enrollment period.
• Apply tact and diplomacy when addressing challenging customer situations or concerns.
• Participate in a comprehensive training program to understand the benefits system and policies.
• Support administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and system updates.
• Adhere to confidentiality and compliance standards while managing sensitive information. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in related fields is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or office support, preferably within health insurance or benefits administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized data entry systems.
• Knowledge of healthcare terminology, health insurance, and Medicare eligibility is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
• Experience with the Workday system is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and work permanent hours, Monday through Friday.
