Actalent is currently partnering with a facility in the Wartburg area in need of a Laboratory Technician to join their team. Please see below for details and qualifications!

Description

+ The Analytical Lab Technician produces accurate and timely analysis of specified samples using the defined methods and procedures in order to support the company’s sales, material management and production efforts.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

+ Performs sample preparation and analyses according to assigned written procedures, conducts several concurrent analyses as required, and strives to exceed accuracy and performance measures as provided by company management.

+ Closely examines sample quality and labeling and brings any deviation to the attention of the Lab Manager and suggests course of action.

+ Assists in maintaining equipment and performs daily equipment checks as needed.

+ Performs all XRF, LOD, LOI in-process testing or similar methods to support production and practice good documentation practice in data entry.

+ Performs Carbon and Chloride analysis using LECO and Titration methods

+ Participates in shift change over and communicates the status of all analyses and needed work.

+ Keeps all equipment in functional operating condition, clean and available. Monitors equipment and supply needs and promptly informs supervisor of action to ensure uninterrupted workflow.

+ Participates in open communication and daily housekeeping tasks ensuring overall laboratory work areas are organized and clean.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associates degree is preferred

+ Minimum of college level Chemistry is highly preferred

+ College level lab experience or an internship in a lab environment is highly preferred

+ Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, work procedures, and/or governmental regulations

+ Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and co-workers

+ Effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with all levels of the organization

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
