    Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our Nutrition Services team as a full-time Cook/Baker. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to students in a safe, clean, and positive environment. Start date is August 2025—apply today!

     

    Position:Cook/Baker (Full-Time) (TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE)

    Start Date:August 2025

    Rate of Pay:$17.58/hour

     

    Hours:6.5 hours/day

    Required Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent

    + Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical

    + Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the daily requirements of the position

    + Must have a willingness to assist other kitchens and positions outside of the primary kitchen as needed

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Ability to follow all health and safety regulations

    + Prepare and cook/bake food items according to menus, portion requirements, and dietary restrictions

    + Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

    + Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance activities

    + Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and service areas

    + Communicate effectively with staff, students, and guests

    + Maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment

    + Work independently in the absence of specific instructions or continuous supervision

    + Pay close attention to detail while preparing meals and following food safety protocols
