    Part of Amgen's R&D Strategy & Operations organization, the R&D Knowledge & Learning team serves staff across R&D and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, transforming how we learn and grow together.     As the **Senior Manager, R&D Learning Professional,** you will shape and orchestrate the delivery of learning strategies to grow functionally relevant skillsets/mindsets at the role level, while connecting knowledge, experiences, and resources at the point of need. This role will be a great fit for those who understand what it really takes to succeed in the function, because they’ve lived it. We are specifically looking for people who bring first-hand experience in the R&D sub-function they will be serving, with the ability to translate that into meaningful learning strategies, have a knack for teaching, and are ready equip and empower teams to operate at their best.

     

    Reporting to a Director, R&D Learning Business Partner, you will drive the design, development, and execution of R&D learning strategies for key roles, initiatives, or competencies within this sub-function, inclusive of onboarding for key roles, upskilling, and delivering integrated and longitudinal learning experiences that are inclusive of but extend far beyond “just” training.

     

    You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to assess learning needs, develop solutions, and ensure successful implementation and measurement of the programs you manage. Your role will be crucial in supporting business transformation, driving the adoption of new behaviors and processes, and ensuring employees are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles.

     

    **Responsibilities** :

    + Lead specific learning programs for Research, Commercialization (CMZ), and R&D Strategy & Operations (RDSO), focusing on initiatives, roles, or competencies that drive business performance.

    + Conduct learning needs assessments in partnership with stakeholders to define skill gaps, development priorities, and competency requirements.

    + Develop role personas utilizing user research techniques to form a deep understanding of the various roles in the R&D sub-function as it relates to key competencies.

    + Design and deliver learning solutions across various modalities (live, virtual, self-serve), leveraging knowledge management techniques and approaches where appropriate, that are aligned with business strategies and tailored to the needs of specific roles or initiatives.

    + Work in partnership with Quality and GxP Learning to develop learning experiences to enable a vision for learning beyond read and certify.

    + Collaborate with content developers, instructional designers, and external vendors to deliver high-quality learning interventions.

    + Manage the learning program lifecycle, from planning and execution to post-delivery assessment and continuous improvement.

    + Monitor the effectiveness of learning programs through performance metrics and feedback, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.

    + Act as a change leader, by enabling continuous learning and development, and supporting transformation initiatives across the sub-function.

    + Ensure alignment with enterprise-wide learning initiatives and collaborate across functions to share best practices and resources.

    + Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the relevance and impact of learning solutions.

    What we expect of you

    **Basic Qualifications** :

    + Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience

    + OR Master’s degree and 6 years of related experience

    + OR Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience

    **Preferred Skills** :

    + Experience designing and implementing learning and development strategies in a complex, matrixed organization.

    + Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design, with experience across various learning modalities (virtual, in-person, blended).

    + Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders.

    + Ability to use data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and continuously improve solutions.

    + Experience working with external vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful learning experiences.

    + Familiarity with the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, particularly within R&D, is a plus.

    The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
