    Job Description

The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country; its mission is to combat municipal corruption. DOI serves the people of New York City by acting as an independent and nonpartisan watchdog for New York City government, City agencies, and City employees, vendors with City contracts, individuals and entities that receive City funds.

DOI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Investigative Auditor to join Squad 10, which oversees City agencies including the Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). As one of DOI's critical oversight teams, Squad 10 monitors some of the City's most expansive and consequential capital programs --ranging from transportation infrastructure and roadway rehabilitation to water and sewer delivery, public facilities, parks, and open spaces. Collectively, these agencies manage tens of billions in city capital commitments and a workforce of more than 17,000 employees.

In this hybrid auditing and investigative role, you will lead and support investigations into complex financial matters to identify fraud, waste, and misconduct, and to prepare written work product reflecting your findings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Lead and independently conduct complex financial investigations with minimal supervision

    - Analyze and interpret a wide range of documents, including financial records, procurement contracts, and internal agency policies, to identify irregularities and risks

    - Collaborate closely with DOI attorneys, fellow auditors, analysts, and investigators, as well as prosecutors and local law enforcement, agencies leadership, and other stakeholders, in advancing investigations.

    - Perform forensic, financial, and programmatic audits and reviews
