Description
Wheeler Machinery in Salt Lake City is currently seeking a full-time Parts Counter Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide prompt, professional support and parts solutions to both internal and external customers. Responsibilities include identifying parts and components for Caterpillar and other allied product lines, as well as offering alternative options when needed. We’re looking for someone who is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable in heavy equipment parts or similar industries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Utilize safety tools and resources to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
+ Communicate any unsafe actions and situations as needed.
+ Greet and assist all customers, internal and external, with an energetic and solutions-oriented attitude.
+ Research and identify parts using necessary software options.
+ Advise customer on substitution of part when replacement is not available.
+ Assist with coaching and teaching other Parts Dept. Personnel
+ Proactively pursue need by dates to manage emergency fees and freight charges.
+ Research and procure all parts for customers.
+ Recognize, coordinate and orchestrate backordered parts and preplanning for work orders.
+ Provide answers and solutions to customer questions for orders including back ordered parts, shipping and logistic questions, updated parts questions, etc.
+ Proactively manage customer expectations related to back orders.
+ Preform warehouse duties and Parts Associate duties as required.
+ Build and assemble hose assemblies
+ Safely operate and utilize various types of equipment and tooling including forklifts, pallet jacks, and packing equipment.
+ Pull, pack and release of parts orders as needed.
+ Participate and complete training as required or as is available.
+ Work back-order queue. (EMBO report)
+ Process returns and cores promptly.
+ Process and stage customer orders.
+ Clean and stock storefront and Parts Express area daily and as needed throughout the shift
+ Fulfill Part’s Dept. on-call commitments and expectations.
+ Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ The ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
+ Provide professional, prompt and engaging customer service
+ Adhere to established communication, quality and efficiency standards.
+ Help support, assist and encourage teammates.
+ Self-motivated and willing to contribute and support company and department needs and goals.
+ Proficient with needed programs and systems.
+ Familiarity with Caterpillar and allied products.
+ Familiarity with Caterpillar processes including contamination control guidelines and core acceptance criteria
+ Understanding of Caterpillar technical support and offerings.
+ Proficiency with Cat hose products and hose building processes.
+ Safely operate various types of equipment and tooling.
+ An extensive understanding and experience with Parts Dept. expectations, processes and details.
