    Job Title: Shipping Clerk

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk for the second shift (2pm-10:30pm) at our large metal finishing facility located in Costa Mesa, CA. This role involves ensuring the timely and efficient shipping and receiving of products, maintaining inventory control, and providing excellent customer service. The position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for overtime once trained.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure production schedule meets customer due dates.

    + Assist in processing production orders.

    + Perform quality assurance activities throughout all stages of production.

    + Receive and inspect customer products for processing, including greeting customers at the service counter and receiving shipments from carriers like UPS and FedEx.

    + Conduct purchase order verification and visual inspection for part damage or previous processing.

    + Verify part quantity and stage receiving shelves.

    + Maintain part identification and traceability.

    + Ensure all paperwork is complete and maintained as required by internal procedures.

    + Maintain cleanliness, organization, and workflow of the receiving area.

    + Seek opportunities to learn new skills and cross-train in various departments.

    Essential Skills

    + Bilingual in English/Spanish.

    + Professional communication skills for customer interaction via phone, email, and in-person.

    + Basic knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

    + Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

    + Valid driver's license.

    + Strong customer service skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in shipping and receiving, packaging, material handling, inventory control, data entry, and inspection.

    + Familiarity with RF scanners and cycle counts.

    Work Environment

     

    The facility consists of six buildings, each dedicated to different departments and parts of the metal finishing process. Employees work in a structured and organized environment designed to enhance workflow and productivity.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport Beach, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $18.00/hr.
