    Duties Description Working within the Office of Data & Analytics and under the general direction of the Data Analyst 3, the Data Analyst 2 will perform tasks related to data analysis, business intelligence development, and data management in support of agency operations. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:• Create, design, and maintain dashboards, reports, and general data analysis deliverables that are used to identify trends, monitor agency operations, deliver insights, and evaluate the impact of agency initiatives.• Monitor, validate, and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure usability, quality, and timeliness of data. • Partner with various stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality concerns and establish best practices.• Create and maintain a data catalog of agency data sources inclusive of data definitions, lineage, and quality rules to support data governance efforts. • Support data stewardship efforts by ensuring compliance with data usage standards and policies. • Research best practices in analytics, data governance, and monitor emerging technology to support the creation of best practices and policies within the Data & Analytics function. • Facilitate working sessions with users to ensure data needs are met. • Fulfill customer requests for ad-hoc report requests, data extracts, or general data analysis requests. • Analyze, clean, and interpret data from disparate sources for inclusion into written reports, measuring data findings against the criteria, critical benchmarks, and objectives identified and defined by Executive Leadership and in alignment with the agency’s strategic plan. • Provide supervision and coaching to Data Analyst 1(s). Preferred Qualifications:• Experience building dashboards and reports in either Oracle Analytics or Tableau. • Strong SQL skills for data querying and validation.• Understanding of data governance frameworks.

     

    Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: one year of permanent service as a Data Analyst 1 OR bachelor’s degree and three years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.*Substitution: A master’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of the specialized experience. A Ph.D. in the above fields may substitute for two years of the specialized experience.
