    The department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Research Associate 1 to work onsite on the UHealth campus. The Research Associate 1, SOM supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.

    CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

    + Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.

    + Participates in the publication of significant results.

    + Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.

     

    Department Specific Functions

     

    + Lead and coordinate IIT and NIH-funded research projects within the division, ensuring compliance with institutional, federal, and sponsor guidelines.

    + Recruit eligible participants for research studies through outreach, screening, and consent processes.

    + Schedule research subjects for study-related appointments, including clinical visits, data collection sessions, and follow-up

    + Collect, enter, and manage study data using approved electronic data capture systems and databases.

    + Conduct literature reviews to support study design, data interpretation, and manuscript development.

    + Assist in drafting, editing, and formatting scientific manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.

    + Present study updates, recruitment metrics, and data summaries during team meetings and PI briefings.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including regulatory, clinical, and data management staff to ensure smooth study execution..

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

    + Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

    + Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

    + Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
