Medical Assistant
Job Description
Join a prestigious Cancer Center team specializing in Medical Oncology, Colon Rectal, Otolaryngology (ENT), Breast Health, and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP). The role involves supporting doctors by taking vitals, performing medication reconciliation, conducting EKGs, administering vaccines during flu season, and setting up trays for procedures such as breast biopsies and GI scopes.
Responsibilities
+ Take and record patient vitals.
+ Perform medication reconciliation.
+ Conduct EKGs and administer vaccines during flu season.
+ Set up trays for procedures such as breast biopsies and GI scopes.
+ Collaborate with a team of 15 medical assistants and 3 leads.
+ Report to supervisors on designated floors.
Essential Skills
+ Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA or CMA).
+ At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
+ Ability to provide two professional references.
+ Possession of a copy of the actual certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working in a medical oncology setting is a plus.
Work Environment
Work hours are Monday through Friday with varying schedules from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The center is closed on 8 major holidays, excluding New Year's Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The team environment is supportive, focused on coaching and encouragement. The facility is located on the 5th, 6th, and 8th floors, offering a collaborative atmosphere dedicated to improving patient care.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
