    Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a **Nuclear Surety** **Systems Engineering Functional Homeroom Manager 2.** This position will be located in **Roy, Utah** and will support the SDS Division and its multiple programs. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

    What you’ll get to do:

    As a Section Manager, you will be the functional manager for a team of up to 12 systems engineers. The candidate will join the Nuclear Surety team and be responsible for technical leadership and functional management of Systems Engineers. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts, have a successful track record of program performance, and possess interpersonal team building skills. Management experience is highly desired. The candidate will dedicate ~80% of their time focusing on program execution as a technical leader and 20% of their time will be on functional management tasks.

    Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:

    • Drive execution of Nuclear Surety Scope of Work

    • Adhere to baselined schedules and budgets

    • Familiarity with Earned Value Management

    • Identify, allocate, and manage program resources, including workforce planning

    • Identify risks and opportunities and coordinate with project teams to mitigate and retire risks

    • Ensure the program team understands and adheres to contract scope, managing change as applicable through the appropriate boards

    • Adhere to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards

    • Deliver presentations to Customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders

    • Manage technical team (Time reporting, performance reviews, statement of work, performance evaluations, employee’s development, mentoring efforts, engagements, and other functional tasks)

    • Support staffing and promotions and needed

    This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

    You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 6 years of related experience

    • 1+ year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.

    • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

    • Prior experience and working knowledge of the Sentinel and/or MMIII ICBM programs.

    These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

    • Active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance

    • Special Program Access

    • Master's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university

    • 3+ years of leadership experience in a multi disciplined environment

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical or software discipline

    • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent efforts

    • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)

    • Demonstrated Functional Management experience

    • Demonstrated experience identifying and defining staffing requirements

    • Demonstrated experience in development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs)

    • Experience working with Nuclear Surety Requirements and the Nuclear Certification process (e.g. AFI 63-125, AFMAN 91-118/91-119/31-108, DODM 5210.41, AFI 91-107)

    • Experience with risk management (identification and development of risks) and driving risk mitigations to closure

     

    Primary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
